Travel day, a tiring one 12/2

Up at 4:30 this am and one last coffee on the rooftop before heading to the bus stop at 7. Th ride was uneventful, we watched the countryside pass by, happy to be out of the city. After several pit stops and 3 samosas, we were on our way w lots of oranges, a small Snickers, Pringles, and a pomelo. We knew we were getting closer to Dumre, we saw a couple shops that had that as the city as we passed by. Andy quickly ran to the driver who stopped the bus and dropped us off. Good thing we were paying attention! We'd be in Pokhara.

We walked back to Dumre and Andy found a local bus to take us to Bessishara. He had to take an emergency bathroom break, he ran into a local stor and asked to the dude to use his restroom. It had no lights so Andy had to use his phone to see the hole in the ground. Worst bathroom ever he says. That's a strong statement.

I love elected us to sit on top of the bus. Why not? Can't do that shit in the US. The rack on the top was metal bars welded together. It hurt to sit on them, and hurt to have the small of your back against it. There wasn't much room so Andy sat on the back w nothing between him and the ground in case there was a sudden movement. About half hour in the dude made us get in the bus due to police. Thank god, my ass was killing me, plus the rest of the ride was really bumpy.

When we got to Bessishara we decided to take one last bus to Ngadi. Bessishara was a small city w too many people and we wanted to save some time for the tail end of the trip. Good thing. We bypassed all the construction the Chinese are doing for the hydroelectric dam. It would not have been nice to walk past. The ride was pretty scary. We were very  close to the cliff, so close I had to look away. Andy watched the road fall away over the ravine. Then the bus swayed back and forth, feeling like it was possible that we were going over. I prefer to look away and not see my fate. It's times like this that I miss US safety standards.

The bus was full of people and then I got a huge gas pain in my stomach. It was so painful going over the rocks and ditches in the "road". They were blasting music and I wanted to die. An hour later we made it, right before sunset, and I finally felt better. Our room is very basic and we'll sleep in our bags. We were the only ones here so they made dinner especially for us. A beer, ginger tea, mushroom soup, and two veg and egg rice. No meat for Andy today! I haven't been able to eat much meat on this trip. In fact I might go all veg. Also, there are huge spiders and Cobras here. There are signs to watch where you shit. Nice.
