Xmas Kathmandu style... and a tick on Andy 12/25
Up at 3am. Andy alerted me that had as a tick. Really how do u know? I just do. Yep, right on his fucking collarbone. How does this even happen? He didn't want to use our tweezers so we went back to sleep and waiting for the hotel owners to wake up. We surprisingly feel back asleep (we both dreamt about removing ticks) and woke up and got that sucker out. Andy was surprised how much it hurts. Told you!!
Breakfast of eggs and hash browns and Andy had faux meat (he thinks). We headed for the bus and walked w a jolly dude who kept yelling to Andy "hey handsome, hey handsome!" The dude was telling us how he's Hindu and his wife and one daughter are Catholic so they are celebrating Xmas mass. He was handing out school book name tags w Micky Mouse on them to all the kids. Then, a bunch of puppies tried to cross the road right when two huge trucks came roaring down the street. One little black one got tagged. I thought his whole head was going to explode in front on me It would have if the truck was a split second later. The poor puppy's leg got ran over, maybe it's nose. It was yelping and yelping. I turned around in horror. The local girl who saw it go down just looked at me like- what's the big deal? That's not what we need to see.
Anyways, we got seats on the bus, made it to Kathmandu, found a shitty cheap hotel for $6 and walked around the city. We found a legit pizza place so it was fed time to eat real pizza. It was sooo good! Merry Xmas pizza!
For dinner we hit up this restaurant w a great outside vibe (prayer flags and Xmas decorations). Too bad the food was meh and the server was terrible. Good thing we snuck whiskey in and could help ourselves. Off to Tibet tomorrow!! If we have no contact for 10 days it's because China is blocking us (if I remember our China trip correctly, they block blogger). I'm looking forward to the next country!
