Segregation at the pool
that's right, but it's not by race but sex. we went to a local pool to swim and women were only allowed to swim from 3-4! wtf? i've been really surprised at the sexism here. several professors and people from our company visits (including PWC) have made sexist comments. it's funny but sad- we're over it though. no need to argue. after we were denied the pool (since andy was with us) we ended back at the Oberoi Hotel- it's super fabulous. we had some drinks- not sure how i drank yesterday after the night before, but i'm a trooper. it's soo nice there, a great place to get away from the noise and pollution when you need to. never did make it to a pool but we'll head to the beach when we're in Singapore/Indonesia.
other than that yesterday was pretty chill. i needed to rest a bit after only sleeping 2 hours the night before. one thing that was not recommended to bring was a small scarf/handkerchief for those freakin rickshaws. so much pollution in the streets! check out the vid i took from our last ride. 4 of us in one rickshaw- good times. the dude had an amp in the back so we were rockin out. you also get some Beth commentary which is always a good thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y0mW_x3wcA
