Weekend trip to Belur

this trip was so much better than last weekend- probably since we weren't rushing around to get everywhere. saturday morning we took off for the 4.5 hour journey to Belur and it rained the whole day. we saw the Halebeedu temple which was pretty cool- i'm almost templed out though. the resort we stayed at was really nice. since it was raining there were mosquitoes out. of course i haven't taken my malaria pills and my legs got tore up. i have no worries though. at temples you have to take off your shoes- that is not a plesant thing in the rain. sarah and i just walked around under the umbrella trying to dodge puddles- they were gross and warm.
saturday night everyone hung out and drank two bottle of vodka. not sure how i feel totally fine today. there was an awesome tree house behind me and lynnette's room. it was so aweso
the most freak hilarious thing happened this morning before we left the resort. we were hanging out in the room watch Cloverfield (movie about aliens or something). at the end of the movie we heard a loud scratching sound coming from the floor. mind you i woke up this morning thinking monkeys were pounding on the door- not sure who/what was pounding since i didn't want to find out. the four of us looked at each other wondering what the hell that lound scratching sound was. we stared at the floor thinking maybe there was an animal under there- but it was really loud so we started freaking out. all of a sudden, the fucking floor tiles started popping up! that's right! the fucking tiles were popping up then we all screamed like little bitches and ran! hahaha! i though the aliens were coming for us! i threw a huge chair at the floor, lynnette had to hurdle it to get out. we ran up to andy like holy shit dude! we then went back in and determined the moisture caused the floor to contract so the tiles popped up. you can no imagine out hysterically we were laughing. i really thought something was coming for us from the floor- especially after watching that movie.
after that whole ordeal we went to the Shravanabelagola temple. it's on top of a mountain- there are ~600 steps- a
