See you in Islamabad (اسلام آباد)!
I went into the office Wednesday to wrap everything up. Full day of meetings and new work thoughts popped in my head after I got home. I kept pinging people with last minute ideas and considerations. Everything will be fine without me.
Andy was still working when I got home (of course). A drink to relax and celebrate vacation, last round to put remaining items on the living room floor for my packing visualization. I’m packed and ready. Andy finally packs around 9. He puts on gloves that have holes in them. He asks me if I can fix them. It’s nice that we’ve been married long enough that I can just give him a look that says “no, absolutamente no” and he moves on. Packing wraps up at 10 and I spent the rest of my time w my babies. I am, of course, a childless cat lady (suck it JD).
Travel day!!!
Andy is working again. Now my anxiety starts. I can’t relax until I’m at the airport. I wrap up items in the backyard. Andy states we need to thoroughly soak everything (plants). Ummm OK cool. I’ve been planning for this trip for months but I’m happy to have this surprise 20 min before we leave.
No traffic to SFO at 8am on a Thursday. Amazing. All goes well and we are here and now we can celebrate! Breakfast and bubbles.
Flight delayed. Dammit SFO single runway. All good. Just watching my girls Simone Biles and Suni Lee kick ass, and drink some more bubbly. On the plane. Got upgraded since Andy is hardly home traveling for work- woot!!! More bubbly. Bubbly and watching USA women gymnastics- I’m so happy.
We land Newark and run to make our connection. It’s so damn hot here, and it’s about to get a lot hotter at our final destination. I have a headache from the bubbly.
Andy has found a new hobby w ChatGPT images so be prepared.
Next stop- Dubai!
