The bee that almost killed me 12/5 Day 3

Up at 6 again after 11 hours of fantastic sleep. Breakfast consisted of musli and two hard boiled eggs each. Between last nights dinner, breakfast and our room the bill was $20 (rooms are $3). We left the valley on a nice flattish walk. As we walk down to the river, we walked through hundreds of fucking huge bees. These bastards are 2-3x US standards. I didn't panic until one got near my face. Then I tried to run only to notice it was fucking stuck in my braid. Andy is yelling "stand still"! I try to compose myself enough to stop and I brace for the stinger. Andy gets it out of my hair and I notice the cliff I almost threw myself down trying to escape it. That was a bit of a traumatic experience for the morning. Thank god the rest of them just sat there instead of swarming. Then I'm sure I'd be over the cliff, or running down the hill into the river. They are seriously fucking huge.

We bypass some of the trail for the road and make great time to Dharapani. We took a quick break and watched little lambs in the yard. They were so new, he had it's umbilical cord still attached. They jumped up on the rock fence where we were sitting. One licked Andy's shirt and once licked my arms for salt. So cute! It's not an issue passing the 3 jeeps on the road. The road was a bit sketchy, walking under huge boulders. Some parts had boulders in the road likely from the earthquake. The other rocks in the mountain had crevices, looking like they were waiting to be shook loose.  On the other side of the valley we could see where a huge boulder, like 50 ft in diameter, had fallen from the side of the mountain and landed in the river.   We passed a herd of yaks w red ornaments in their ears. Don't look at them in the eye and hopefully they won't push you off the road. The road was steep to Bagarchap but nothing compared to the stairs we took up the mountain to get to Timang. It must have been 2k ft of nothing but stairs. We finally saw an Annapuna (4 I believe)! The snow covered mountains tops are beautiful in the sun. Then when we were close to the top, we had to climb using tree roots to get to the top. We were dirty, tired, and we hadn't eaten anything since 7am, it was 2.

We made it to Timang, got a lovely room looking at the mountains. For linnder we had ginger lemon honey tea, garlic & mushroom noodle soup, and we each had a veg & egg spring roll made from scratch. The tea was the most delicious, all the food was really. We sat in the tiny room watching the lady make all our food while the fog rolled in. Then towns men then came in and she fed them as well. It looked like it was a potato dish w fresh tortillas. Everything is from scratch here and delish. I feel bad for ordering momos yesterday because they take so long. Maybe we'll do spring rolls from here on out- no meat (I don't need a chicken to die in front of me at the moment).

Now it's 3:30 so we are in our sleeping bags reading and relaxing. No wifi here. It's cold. This might be when I stop showering. I'm nervous what the rest of the hike will bring. The views are amazing. It's definitely a workout.
