Big ass sting ray 1/21
Slept so well last night I didn't want to get up for our dives but powered through. Another filling breakfast and we were on our way. We dove again today. We headed out w the cutie Maldivian DM (Ahmed), a lady from the UK, and the open water guy from Deutschland. The first dive was chill and second had strong current we fought against. We saw a mantis shrimp, a sleeping shark in a cave, a HUGE sting ray w fish that attach to it (it was only a couple feet from us and was freakin awesome!!), clown fish hiding in the anemones (then the fish were trying to fight me off and come after me by defending their home), lobster, shrimp, all kinds of cool shit.
Between dives we (w the UK lady and Ahmed) discussed the hilarity of Trump and Palin, and all the dumb shit they say. Ahmed is concerned since he's Muslim and going to live in LA w his girlfriend in April. The world sees them as a joke and half of the US supports them. What's wrong w this picture?
I had problems equalizing my ears on the way up so I'll take tomorrow off from diving. We jumped in the pool to rinse off and got drinks w some pizza. There's no one here at the pool. So crazy. We have the place to ourselves and I'll take it.
I took another nap (I can't help it, it's so easy) then we went to take our Nitrox test. We forgot our books so we'll take it tomorrow.
We wandered over to our favorite table. More people out tonight. Is it because there's no sun or more people in the island? A bottle of wine and a fantastic sunset. We didn't see the sun but it cast beautiful colors all over the clouds in the sky, reds then purples. We bother got a Caesar salad w anchovies for dinner plus a tuna sashimi plate. The tuna was fresh from the Maldives (we're told that's why they are know for) and it was the most delicious tuna I've ever eaten. The pieces melted in your mouth. Tomorrow we'll have to order it again in the am so they can order the tuna. Yeah I think we'll do that.
On the way back to our room I busted my toe open on the walkway. Yay. That may impact my snorkeling tomorrow. Whatever. I'm still in paradise. And we get to sleep in tomorrow! Stoked for that! We set our clocks to Island time tomorrow, not sure what that means but I better not miss breakfast.
