Our first shower and craft beer in Argentina 12/18

Holy fuck the am was a little bit stressful. We hardly slept. We thought the wedding that was happening in the campground was going to be the problem but they ended early. The party at the campground next to us lasted until the early morning. Not to mention the stray dogs barking and all the ducks, geese, falcons, basically every fucking bird was talking. So we got up at 5:35, packed our gear and headed for the airport.
We saw the sun rise across the fields as the fog lifted and casted an amazing sunrise. No gas station on the way, oh well. We reached the airport, no one is here. They don't open until 8. Our bus leaves at 8:15 and it's 30 min away. Fuck. We knew it. We knew better. Shit is never open early. The other rental companies had key drop boxes but ours. I got a very very nice man who worked for a bus company to help us. He ended up calling the rental company (I couldn't figure out the phone- you have to key in + before the number- who knew?) he told them our situation and after 20 min we figured out I'll leave the keys behind the counter. Great, now there are no taxis and the bus I paid for the other day doesn't leave until 9. The dude called a cab for us. The taxi showed up, drove like crazy to the terminal and got us there w time to spare. Thank god there are people willing to help. He wouldn't accept my $$ either as a thank you. Yay good people!!
The bus ride was uneventful which is good. We were so nervous going through the border into Argentina due to the "apple incident" in Chilé several years ago. We scarfed down some sammies we made since we didn't know if we could take bologna across. I threw the rest of mine away, i can only handle so much.
Bariloche is touristy but beautiful. We walked from the bus stop to the town to finally get some exercise we found a wonderful hostel w hot showers and wifi in our rooms. We are sharing with 2 others but whatever. It's clean and they have hot water.  We finally showered, it was the first shower we've had since we've been here. I'll leave the math up to you.  Our beds are on the bottom bunk but I think we have girls above us so it won't be too harsh.
We headed out for the town to find some hiking maps and these craft breweries we were told about. The streets were crowded with locals and tourists. We finally found a store to buy some maps and me and then located the breweries. We stop for a couple beers at a brewery I've had seats outside in the street. It was just what we needed.  we stop for a couple beers at a brewery I've had seats outside in the street. It was just what we needed. We then went for dinner to another brewery and had delish burgers w jamón and cheese wiz on the fries.  Mmmmmm. Andy is adorable speaking Spanish. He asks for the batheroom in Spanish then has a deer in headlights like ok with the response. Then the waitress responds in English. That's not better than me not understanding the cost of our beers so I continue to place down bills thinks my she'll stop when I put down enough. She doesn't. She give me back the money I overpaid and I feel like an idiot. Oh well, moving on. We'll sleep well tonight. Hopefully we get some hiking in tomorrow.
