Africa!!
No sleep, up at the ass crack of dawn to get to Zurich. Andy drove like a pro for 2 hours. We arrived at 8, our flight’s at 10. I was freaking a bit of course. No lines no stress. We slept almost the whole flight (7hrs) which isn’t great when the time zone is just 1 hour difference. Whatever we need it.
We arrived Nairobi at 7pm. First in line for our East African visa- Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda all for $100 each for 3 months. Bags claimed, our driver Peter picked us up.
The ride to the hotel took about an hour due to traffic. The city has huge round a bouts and the police stop all traffic in all but one direction so cars can pass. Peter was very nice, telling us about the 42 tribes in Kenya. The city in the dark reminds me of South America. People standing on the side of the road waiting for the bus, walking through the traffic selling food. Can’t wait to see everything in daylight tomorrow!
We checked into the Kahama hotel. Not a bad spot for 3 nights at $110 total. Time to rinse off the travel day. We got beers, samosas, and goat ribs for a late dinner.
