Serengeti day 2, Lions and all the animals 10/6/18
Another amazing day! A full day safari.
We saw:
We saw:
A buffalo’s tail was eaten off, birds were eating from the hole (gross).
Lions: mama, cubs playing w mama, King off in the distance by himself. Another mama caught a gazelle and had it up in the tree w her while she rested. Multiple prides of lions. Snuggle puddles under trees. Lions on top of rocks in their lair.
Secretary bird- very cool. Poodle like tails and feathers around its head. Strong legs so they can walk the plains looking for lizards and snakes. Andy’s favorite spotting of the day.
About 6 cheetahs from far away. Chillin under trees to stay cool and although one was on top of a termite hill.
Hundreds of gazelle. They are weird how some stand perfectly still listens by and smelling for bad guys. They take turns w other animals standing on top of termite hills looking for danger.
We saw a picturesque view of tons of gazelles, zebras, impalas, antelopes all on the plain around the fever trees.
A DikDik that wasn’t scared of us and let us pull the truck up right beside him.
And ostrich male performed a mating dance for his lover. He was flailing his head and body side to side. Then he mounted his lover and continued the failing. It was quite the sight.
Several hyenas. They are such ugly scavengers. And big.
