Last day in Santorini 6/17
Up at 9 wrote our last breakfast so I didn't skimp on the meal. I was mauled again last night again by the damn mosquitos, my body is tore up. I woke up scratching at 4. The girls decided to go shopping today in Oia so we hit the bus around 1. We didn't make the first bus but the second wasn't a problem. We shopped for several hours. I got a pair of earrings I'll have the rest of my life. We ended with some delish gyros, not enough Tzaziki in my opinion. I need to eat all the gyros I can get before I leave. I'm going to eat the hell out of them when I get home, I can get enough of them.
Back at the villa for some relaxation and pool time before we leave tonight. It amazing how easy it is to relax when your mind is in hone right spot, maybe the alcohol I've been constantly consuming has something to do with it. I bought some homemade soap from Thabis as we packed, lavender and chamomile. Thabis took us to the airport around 7 and we fought through the crowds for our 8:30 flight. We'll have plenty of time at the Athens airport before our 1am flight, hopefully we can catch some of the Brazil game. Tomorrow is going to be a long one.
Greece surprised me in many ways. The people are so friendly, even ore so when you try to speak Greek, kalimara and efhoritio can go a long ways. There so much land the houses are pretty large, although many are half built. Lots and lots of half built buildings and clubs in one horse towns that have been shut down for a long time. Not many people working, we saw a handful of people working on a farm out of all the agriculture we saw. The Greek men are very good looking and Andy was mistaken for a hairy big Greek man throughout the trip. Driving is pretty crazy, passing anywhere, and they park wherever and on any side of the road. The weather is fabulous, dry and hot like CA. Their sweet are too much, so sweet it's enough to make you nauseous. The Ousou drink is gross because it tastes like licorish. Athens wasn't anything spectacular and I'm glad we were in and out of there.
