Last of the long travel days... for now
Up at 5 for breakfast, I think I slept 5 hrs, sound no less due to a little help from my Xanax friend. We shortly landed in Moscow. The land is very flat, lots of trees, sections that looked like they cut the trees down and replanted. There was a thick layer of green smog blanketed the city.
The airport was small but we found some vodka to take w us to greece. Andy saw they were champagne tasting in a shop, who cares it's 8:30am, and discovered the it's all the same vodka, just fancy bottles to change the price- noted. He had a fixin for some vodka so we went into a Irish pub- he had vodka, I had juice- I'm tired and parched.
Back on the plan for the last 2 hr leg! It ended up being 3.5 with time change but I didn't mind because I slept through all of time. I slept so hard I couldn't wake up to get off the plane. We finally made it! Car rental check, here we come with the Yaris. We drove up the east coast for 4-5 hours paying €3 each time along the way. I passed out again and Andy was close so we stopped for expresso. We drove through Volos and passed our target, no worries, plenty of other great places to see. In a small town we finally see our favorite market Lidl! We get excited about the little things and get some snacks and food for sammies.

We headed down the Pagasitikos Peninsula, up and over the mountain all the way down to Milina keeping out eyes open for camping. People use the driving lanes as guidance here, not really law. On a two lane highway slow cars drive on the shoulder and let other cars pass, even with on coming traffic. Once we realized is, Andy was all over passing of course. They also park whoever the hell they want to. Milina is a beautiful small town on the water. We found a camping spot but Andy wanted to keep looking so we heeded back up the mountain. We drove around for a while.
It was 8, I was getting tired and hungry, but we needed a quick dip in the ocean. We drove down a road, not knowing where it goes except to the water. There were 2 people there and a couple homes, we had the place pretty much to ourselves. The was was crystal clear and cold! I went in up to the top of my legs and Andy went in all the way, being very careful not to step on the Sea Urchins on the rocks. I did a quick "bath" and we left. Aegean Sea check.
It was time for dinner. We held off as long as possible since they eat dinner here really late. We couldn't find the other camping spot he had in mind and I needed to eat so we headed back to Milina. The camping owner said no tent camping allowed and the only place he knew was back 25km. Dammit. Let's get some dinner.
We stopped by a restaurant on the water and admired the sunset. We had an amazing dinner. Mythos beers, block of feta, Tzaziki, mussels, Masuka (lasagne), and Andy had had sardines. Yum! Andy fed the stray cats after the restaurant owner gave them bread. I've never seen a cat eat bread before. It was late and we needed a place to stay. We headed back up the mountain for the Hellas camping destination. At night all the strays make their way to the roads. I was surprised we haven't seen any road kill yet. It was 10:30 and I was afraid it was closed so we looked for places to camp. A couple turns on dirt roads and we found a spot. The dogs were barking in the distance. I wasn't sure if I hoped they were stray dogs or someone owned them meaning we were staying on someone's property. Oh well, we were tired so we pitched the tent and passed out around 11:30. What a long day it's been.
