Russ, want to see the largest mound of mud? 1/4

I slept like shit. I'm pretty sure it's impossible to sleep in Cartagena due to the parties everywhere. Bass runs deep. Then the AC was making a noise- once you hear you can't unhear. Breakfast was awesome!! Fresh fruit and juice, yogurt, cheese meats, eggs. That alone was worth this hotel. We packed up and checked out, dropped our bags off at the hotel and left for the mud volcano meetup by 9.
We got to the largest ball of mud by 10. Since we were w a tour group we had a place to stash our stuff. Gave a dude our cameras to take pics, clothes off bathing suits on, up the small volcano. We waited while people got in and out. I was first in. Get in backwards. The locals want to give you massages, no thanks, that's what my man is for. The locals in the mud push you to the side. You're super buoyant and it's hard to get vertical, your legs don't want to go down. Andy got in. We flipped and turned while we tried to get over and out of the way. Andy tried to go all the way under but he could t do it himself, so he lifted me up and went down. Eewwww.  We sat in the mud for 20 min and tried to move to the steps to get out. Not easy. We push and pulled our way to the steps. On our way out a local tried to get some of the mud off. Getting down was challenging. Down steep, muddy, slippery, slanted steps. One at a time. We rinsed off in the lagoon. No. red to have the ladies wash us. We slide in w our flip flops and cleaned off. I initially steps on a spike in the water. OK, only swimming or wearing the flip flops in here. In all, it was fun as long as you don't think about the nasty.
The bus took us to the beach for lunch. I had pescado and Andy got his fried chicken. Not bad. We fed the little calico kitty who was a big talker. We sat in the shade while we waited for our ride back for our last afternoon.
Back at the hotel. Had to shower off the remaining mud before we jumped in the cold ass pool. It was lovely and made this hotel even better. We sat in the lounges w the remaining sun at our head. A short nap to use some time in the afternoon. I made us a reservation for 7 at the same place we ate last night because we were tired of seafood (I know it's hard to believe).
We left early for some pre-dinner drinks at a chill bar. I had the mojito again and Andy w a German beer and an IPA that didn't taste like one. We were at the door before 7 of course. He's like a kid in a candy store. They didn't have us on the list for a reservation. Andy whipped the email out. I'm good w sitting at the bar. Not tonight. They find us a table.
We look at the wine list. Is this a different one from last night? Looks like it, way cheaper. No fucking shit, it's the same one, we just didn't flip the one over last night so we were looking at the expensive side. Dumbasses. A bottle of Malbec and the 2 person dinner, sides of mashed potatoes and salad- done. The meal was wonderful again. Way too much meat- it put Andy to the test as I can only eat 20%. No dessert tonight. Back to the hotel and then the airport. Up next- 25 hours of travel time. Yay.
