I'm on a boat 4/22
Slept in until 630 this am, missed the sunrise but I didn't care. I love sleeping and the sun comes up every morning. Breakfast and then we were ready for pickup at 830. The 5 vans took us to the pier on the south west end of the island- our villas are on the southern most point. It's hot out.
The boat was a large w/ a lower deck w/ a hot tub and an upper deck. There's no way I'm getting in that hot tub. Our Czech Captain Ron gave us commentary on the 4/5 islands, some island where the Chinese are and another one where they shoot guns (I really couldn't hear him well). The water is so blue and the island have white sandy beaches.
We stop for our first snorkeling point on a private island that going to turn into a 4 Seasons in a couple years (sigh). This was more of a popular place to go since other long boats were there w/ tourists snorkeling. What other way to get in the water besides jumping off the edge of the boat? Everyone jumped in from the top deck, even Mike's mom. We took a small boat ride down to the reef. The viz wasn't great but there were a lot of fishes several small sting rays. We swam and swam in the warm water. I know I'm going to burn the shit out of myself, no protection besides some sunblock on my shoulders. The back of my legs were already burt from yesterday, just going to feel more pain today.
Back in the boat and Captain Ron took us to another dive site, this time no other boats were around. First a delish lunch of fried fish and chicken w/ some veggies. I'm so tired, I just want to take a nap- no time for napping! Get back in the water! The island was lovely except for the garbage we witnessed this Earth Day. this time Andy and I swam from the boat to the reef to get some exercise and back. Not much to see this time, but it was fun to play in the ocean. The top deck was really hot and all the white people were so burnt, we were all trying to find a place out of the sun. We are all toast. I snuck some wine on board since we brought it from duty free. No water, just wine. Man am I tired.
We got back to the villas before 4 and I immediately jumped into the pool to cool down and rinse off. It was perfect and out of the sun. Everyone joined and we floated w/ all the inflatable animals, drinking our beers and champagne. They piled all the rafts as high as possible because what else are you going to do w/ all of them.
Not too long before another delish dinner, stir fry, salad, super ripe mangos w/ sticky rice. I just need to stay awake until 9. Yoga tomorrow am and then the wedding celebration! My body is on fire and Andy's back is even worse. I hope we can sleep tonight.
