Trip to Narayana Hrudayalaya Institute of Cardiac Sciences

Today we felt some serious heartache. we took a tour of a new hospital here in Bangalore that treats people for heart surgeries. about 1/3 of the patients each week are children. this hospital will treat anyone- the poor are charged $1K for surgery and that money is provided through charities. they have a deal here that farmers pay ~11 cents a month for insurance. since India has such a huge population and not everyone needs surgery, the hospital is able to operate. the guys who founded the hospital is such a visionary it’s so moving. makes me feel like i’m an asshole with my job. does working with online games make the world a better place? not so sure.
